Honda Aircraft Company Sends Care Packages to North Carolina Based Marines Serving in Afghanistan
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Dec. 3, 2013 — Honda Aircraft Company conducted Operation Deep Appreciation today at its world headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina. The company is shipping 500 care packages to N.C.-based Marines on active duty in Afghanistan.
Now in its fifth year, Operation Deep Appreciation gives Honda Aircraft team members the opportunity to express their support and gratitude for deployed United States servicemen and servicewomen during the holiday season.
“Our team enthusiastically supports this project each year,” said Michimasa Fujino, president and CEO of Honda Aircraft Company. “It is a unique opportunity for our team to show support for servicemen and servicewomen spending the holidays away from home.”
During Operation Deep Appreciation, Honda Aircraft team members visit more than 20 stations and fill each box with items such as sundries, snacks and holiday lights. The care packages also include personalized, handwritten notes from the individuals who packed the boxes.
The 500 care packages will arrive in Afghanistan before Christmas. The costs for the care packages are underwritten by Honda Aircraft Company.
